Fingular, a Singapore-based global neobank, renowned for its disruptive role in accelerating financial inclusion and fintech innovation, has been recognized as a sole winner of the ‘Best New Fintech Company APAC 2024’ award by the Global Banking and Finance Review, a leading financial media platform with over three million readers worldwide.
This prestigious accolade highlights Fingular’s stunning results in this milestone year and its proven track record of innovative approach to driving the mission of reducing the emerging market credit gap globally, improving the life quality of more than 2 billion financially underserved people.
This award comes just weeks after the company reported that it had achieved operational breakeven at Group level in less than 3 years since inception to date.
Previously, in July the company announced its first profitability in just 9 months since inception in Malaysia, its strategic market, where Fingular launched the country’s first fully online digital lending business under the Tambadana brand. The company also became one of less than 1% of lending companies to secure an advanced digital lending license ahead of expected business scaling. In August, the company announced the launch of a BNPL business under the AhaPay brand.
In November, on the eve of a significant scaling of the business in both product and geographic dimensions, the company announced the strengthening of its Board of Directors and Advisors with such seasoned professionals as former World Bank executive Marko Voljc and former McKinsey Partner Marco Breu.
“We are delighted ending this successful year by winning such a prestigious award and are grateful for the trust that the Global Banking & Finance Review has placed in us. This year is a pivotal year for us as we have achieved operational breakeven in just 3 years, have significantly scaled our business volumes (ten-fold in Malaysia), we are on an excellent track in our target markets and we are now perfectly positioned to move forward with getting our markets to explosive scale and introducing new innovative products. Stay tuned!” – said Maxim Chernuschenko, CEO Fingular.
“We are honoured to end this year on a high note by being recognized as the Best New Fintech Company in Asia Pacific. This award emphasizes our strategic focus on improving the life quality of billions of people. We create value for our customers by accelerating their involvement in the financial system, the availability and quality of financial services, while introducing innovative and fair customer-centric digital products. We are inspired to move forward as fast as possible in 2025” – added Fingular strategic backer Vadim Gurinov, Cypriot investor and entrepreneur.
